We only recently upgraded our office computers to Internet Explorer 9. Since then we have had some issues, mainly the menu layout and blurry fonts. Well another problem just surfaced with Flash Player. It suddenly stopped working in Internet Explorer 9.
We have had some similar reports from users with Internet Explorer 8 and flash not working. So here is a fix that worked for us.
Fix Flash Player in IE
The fix is pretty simple and takes a few seconds. What you need to do is reset your Internet Explorer settings. Now this works for IE8 and 9, but we can’t confirm earlier versions. If you have seen a similar problem in IE6 or 7, let us know.
From the menu, open Tools -> Internet Options, then click on the Advanced tab. At the bottom of this window is a section for resetting IE settings, click the “Reset” button.

After clicking “Reset”, you will see the following window. You will need to check the box next to “Delete personal settings”, then click “Reset”. You need to close Internet Explorer, then re-open. Flash should work again.

Note: We tried resetting without deleting the personal settings but it didn’t work. We only had success after checking the box.
Once you are done, visit YouTube and see if flash is working again.

ahh thankyou. Worked perfectly. I wondered where my flash had gone!!!
If the above doesn’t work, in IE9 open the Tools menu. If ActiveX Filtering is turned on (with a checkmark beside its name), click the name to turn it off.
That’s it!
